Roses are in season! Enjoy the beautiful and organically maintained gardens and grounds at Rough Point while learning about the culinary and medicinal uses of everything Rose.
We will walk the perimeter of the property gathering wild and deliciously scented rosa rugosa, while learning how to identify, preserve and use a variety of plants in the rose family. Each participant will bring home their own small jar of what was made during the class, as well as recipe cards.

Join us for a family-friendly workshop in the Kitchen Garden! Enjoy the beautiful and organically-maintained grounds at Doris Duke’s Rough Point while you work in the garden and learn the basics of growing, harvesting, preserving and preparing a variety of different foods. We will work with classic produce such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and culinary herbs, as well as unique plants, medicinal herbs, and edible flowers. Discover how to identify and stock your pantry with nutritious food that will last all year long, and leave with preserved and fresh food in hand for your personal use.
