Join us for a family-friendly workshop in the Kitchen Garden! Enjoy the beautiful and organically-maintained grounds at Doris Duke’s Rough Point while you work in the garden and learn the basics of growing, harvesting, preserving and preparing a variety of different foods. We will work with classic produce such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and culinary herbs, as well as unique plants, medicinal herbs, and edible flowers. Discover how to identify and stock your pantry with nutritious food that will last all year long, and leave with preserved and fresh food in hand for your personal use.
Join us for Children & Family Day on Monday, July 6th at Vernon House (46 Clarke Street). We'll share an interactive treasure hunt that will take you throughout the neighborhood to learn more about the history of NRF's houses and NRF's work preserving them today. This is a drop-in activity between 10:00 am and 1:00pm.
