Quest: Puddingstone Festival II
June 27 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 PM
We are excited to partner with Puddingstone Festival on an evening of music at Rough Point! Our founder Doris Duke was a supporter of the arts, as well as a musician and a dancer. We are delighted to host this evening celebrating the performing arts in her home.
Experience an evening of masterful chamber music at Rough Point in Newport, featuring two of the repertoire’s most beloved works. Puddingstone founder and pianist Clemens Teufel and violinist Andrea Segar open the program with Mozart’s Violin Sonata in E minor, a work renowned for its poignant lyricism and expressive depth-one of only two violin sonatas Mozart composed in a minor key. The concert continues with Beethoven’s monumental “Archduke” Trio, performed by pianist Angela Kim, violinist Carla Kim, and cellist Raffi Poper Keizer. This iconic trio, dedicated to Beethoven’s patron Archduke Rudolph, is celebrated for its grandeur, lyricism, and innovative spirit. From the noble opening movement to the exuberant finale, the performers guide listeners through a sweeping musical journey that exemplifies Beethoven’s genius and the collaborative artistry of chamber music.
Set against the historic and scenic backdrop of Rough Point, this concert offers a colorful program performed by some of today’s most accomplished musicians.
