Join Lycette Designs and Newport Restoration Foundation for a hands-on evening of stitching set against spectacular ocean views.
All levels welcome, no experience required. The custom canvas, thread, needle, snips, and canvas carrying bag are included, and we’ll provide light refreshments and guidance.
This Needlepoint Night’s custom canvas features the “My Decision is Maybe and That’s Final” pattern, in honor of an embroidered pillow featured at Rough Point belonging to Doris Duke.
We’re delighted to partner with Lycette Designs on an evening celebrating handcraft. Rough Point is filled with examples of skilled needlepoint—from 17th-century stumpwork, to 19th-century samplers, to 20th-century embroidered clothing. Arrive early to visit the museum and special exhibitions ahead of the event.
