20th Annual Doris Duke Historic Preservation Awards

Join us to celebrate excellence and innovation in historic preservation!

The annual Doris Duke Preservation Awards, a joint program of the Newport Restoration Foundation and the City of Newport, encourages excellence in historic preservation by recognizing exemplary projects that carry forward the legacy of Doris Duke and have had a significant impact on the preservation of the cultural and historic fabric of Newport, Jamestown, Middletown, and Portsmouth. The 2026 President’s Award will honor Tom Perkins, for his lifetime achievement in historic preservation.

This year we are honoring:
Miramar (1912), Newport, RI – Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation
The Sprouting Rock Beach Association Historic Clubhouse (ca.1939), Newport, RI- Award for Resiliency

Event details:

The Doris Duke Historic Preservation Awards will take place at Rough Point located at 680 Bellevue Avenue in Newport. Complimentary valet parking will be available.
Doors to Rough Point will open at 5:30 PM with the Awards ceremony beginning at 6:30 PM. Guests will enjoy cocktails, passed and stationed foods, both before and after the ceremony.
