Learn more about Miss Duke’s passion for collecting antiques with a visit to the Whitehorne House displaying the Doris Duke Collection of 18th Century Newport Furniture. See beautifully handcrafted furniture from the Townsend and Goddard workshops displayed in this furnished Federal-style mansion.

Experience early New England history and buildings on a landscape beautifully preserved by Doris Duke at Prescott Farm in Middletown. Glimpse early American life at the 1812 windmill. Hear about the capture of British General Prescott at this site during the Revolutionary War.

  • The first available tour time is 9:00 am and the last is 3:45 pm.
  • $25.00 per person for groups of 11 or fewer; $22.00 per person for 12 to 24 people; $18.00 per person for 25 or more

  • Typical hours of operation are May 1–October
  • Thursday, Friday & Monday: 11:00 am–4:00 pm

  • Tours last approximately one hour.
  • $10.00 per person for groups of fewer than 10 people
  • $8.00 per person for groups of 10 or more

• Prescott Farm Tours 2008
  • Group Tours are available year round any day of the week, although our typical hours of operation are June–September, Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Tours last approximately one hour, but can be tailored to meet the groups’ needs
  • Discounts available for groups of 10 or more; Rates vary depending on program chosen and time of year.

  • We offer three garden tours: Prescott Farm: Kitchen Gardening in the 18th Century, Whitehorne House: Urban Garden of the Federal Period, and Rough Point: A Landscape History & Garden Tour
