40 Years of Transformation and Preservation: The History of the Newport Restoration Foundation and Preservation in Newport
An illustrated lecture by Pieter Roos, NRF Executive Director, and Robert Foley, NRF Director of Preservation, will cover the history of this important organization, Doris Duke, and other preservation movements (Operation Clapboard), and their impact on Newport. Also on display is our Young Architects' Gallery, featuring original art from students in the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center after-school program.
The cost is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Lectures begin at 5:30 PM and last approximately 1 hour.

Tour the 2010 special exhibition Doris Duke's Extraordinary Vision: Saving 18th Century Newport in two galleries at Rough Point, which celebrates the preservation legacy of Doris Duke and explores the work of NRF, past and present. Admission to the exhibit is $5. Full house tours not offered on gallery nights.
